As well as being the home of TOYOTA Racing, TOYOTA Motorsport GmbH (TMG) is an engineering services supplier based in Cologne, Germany since 1979 with extensive experience of World Rally, sportscar racing and Formula 1.
With two state-of-the-art wind tunnels, unique R&D testing facilities and extensive production departments as well as impressive design and simulation capabilities, TMG is at the forefront of engineering services supply to the motorsport and automotive industries, with its expertise now also extensively utilised within Toyota’s road car R&D activities. To showcase its abilities, TMG launched the TMG Sports 650 road car prototype in 2013; this 650hp, 300km/h+ high-performance limousine was a heavily modified version of the Lexus LS 450 and received impressive track test reviews.
TMG is the current lap record holder for electric vehicles at the Nürburgring Nordschleife using a road-legal car with TMG electric powertrain and also won the electric division of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 2012. TMG is also active in customer motorsport, with the GT86 CS-V3 race car, winner of its class in the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2012 and 2013, and the GT86 CS-R3 rally car which has been launched in 2014.
